7th Grade – BEGIN TO STUDY VOCAB FOR QUIZ ON THURSDAY!!!! This is very important.

8th Grade – Students are beginning the final section of the Algebra Ready Book. Students are welcome to take their workbooks home, practice, and catch up on any incomplete work in the book. We are currently planning on a test to be on Wednesday May16th. In class we will move on to slope and function for the final 3 weeks.
7th Grade – Students just completed Unit 6. Next week we will have out final 4-sight test and we will be moving on to the final Unit of the year. Our topics will include a lot of geometry. It should be exciting.

8th Grade – Students are currently solving multiple step equations. These Equations include distributive property, the combination of like terms, inverse property of addition, and inverse property of multiplication. We are planning a quiz for next week (Thursday May 3rd) and a test the following week (Friday May 11th). The days leading up to the test students will be encouraged to take their workbooks home for practice.
7th Grade – Students are currently finishing the last lesson in Unit 6. A list of these lessons can be found in their front of your child’s Math Folder. Monday through Wednesday of next week we will begin reviewing all the topics from Unit 6. A test is scheduled for Thursday May 3rd.

Ask your child about sumdog.com. The students have really enjoyed working on that math site this week. Contest ends on Friday

8th Grade – Students are simplifying algebraic expressions using distributive property and the signed number rules to distribute a plus (+) sign through parentheses.
7th Grade – Students just completed one-step equations. They are now working on solving two-step equations. The next few lessons can be followed in the book starting on topic 3-1 and ending on topic 3-5.

As the PSSA test end on Monday we will continue to move forward working on our current units in all classes.
8th Grade – We will begin this week working on lesson 29 in our algebra ready workbooks. Our focus will be on multiplying and dividing variable expressions.
7th Grade – Monday we completed a practice test on Unit 5. Students will complete the Unit 5 test on Tuesday. Wednesday will be the start of Unit 6. Just a reminder that Tuesday’s test will be the last test of the 3rd Marking Period.

8th Grade – Today students completed a practice test. Tomorrow we will review and students will bring home their workbooks. Test on lessons 19-27 will be Wednesday.
7th Grade – Today in class students learned about scientific notation. Tomorrow we will review lessons 4-6 in unit 5. Quiz Wednesday on Lessons 4-6. Thursday we will begin the final lesson in Unit 5. Unit 5 test is currently scheduled for Tuesday March 6th.

8th Grade – Today in class students learned how to solve equations with fractions. Fact – Multiply a fraction by its reciprocal to get an answer of 1.
7th Grade – Today in class students learned how to find the GCF of monomials. Pg 179-180 (12-32 EVEN)

8th Grade – Students worked today on solving multi-step inequalities that have variables on both sides of the inequality.
7th Grade – Unit 4 tests were returned today. Any student who earned a 75% of higher on the test can make corrections as explained in class today. These corrections are due by Thursday February 2nd. Students who earned below a 75% on the test can take a retest on Friday if they complete the review packet by Thursday February 2nd. A retest will not be given to students who do not complete the review.

8th Grade – This week students will begin to solve inequalities. Important vocabulary will include inequalities, equation, and symbol. Our 3rd 4-sight test will be completed on Thursday.
7th Grade – Students are finishing up a unit on probability. The test for this unit will be on Friday. Our 3rd 4-sight test will be completed on Thursday.
