Welcome to Mrs. Kopp’s Blog! You will find lots of information about our third grade class. Enjoy!
All Stiegel students and their dads are encouraged to come to school early (6:30) to eat breakfast together and to be part of the All Pro Dad event. As always, it will be a fun event for kids and dads.
Picture retake day has been set for Thursday, Dec. 1. If you are not happy with your child’s pictures, please send them back to school by Dec. 1.
On Tuesday, November 22, the third grade classes will be having a Fall Harvest Brunch starting at 8:30. The menu includes pancakes, trail mix, fruit, and orange juice. Each class has been assigned to bring in the needed supplies. If your child does not like pancakes, he/she can bring in cereal to eat instead. It should be a fun time for all. Thanks for all the donations.
All students from Stiegel are invited to attend the annual roller skating event at Mount Gretna on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9:00 AM to noon. No admission, but there is a $2.00 skate rental fee. Rollerblades are allowed if the black stoppers are removed.
The third graders will be taking the second round of 4-Sight tests next week. They will take the math part on Monday, October 31, and the reading one will be on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Wednesday, October 26, is Spirit Day at Stiegel. The staff and students will be wearing maroon and gray to show their school spirit. There will also be a short assembly involving some of the senior high members of the fall sports teams who will come to speak to the Stiegel students about their sports, etc. The focus of this assembly is to stir up some school spirit and to let the younger students know that it takes hard work, good grades, and lots of practice to participate in these sports.
GO TEAM!!!!
Next week we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week at Stiegel Elementary. Even though we encourage our students to make good choices throughout the year, Red Ribbon Week is the time that we stress how important it is for students to live a healthy life free of harmful drugs. Announcements about making healthy choices will be shared with the students in the mornings and in their class meetings. We are encouraging our students to wear red on Monday, October 24. Friday, October 28 is the day that students will wear a shirt or jersey of their favorite sports team because it is “Team Up Against Drugs Day.”
Don’t forget that All Pro Dads will be held next Friday morning, September 30 at 6:30 – 7:30.
The students at Stiegel will be having their fall pictures taken on Friday, October 14. Picture envelopes were sent home earlier this week. If you would like to send the money envelopes in early, that would be fine.
Weather permitting, the third graders of Stiegel Elementary will walk to the Manheim Farm Show on Wednesday, October 5, to see the many agricultural products that are on display. They will bring a packed lunch that day and eat it before walking to the farm show. The class will leave Stiegel around 11:00 and return by 1:45 PM.
