Robert Munsch

Robert was born on June 11, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I grew up in a family of 9 kids. He was not very good at being a student. Robert had lots of trouble understanding math, science, social studies and reading. He said that he was an awful at spelling! He did, however, all through elementary school, write poetry. Funny poems, silly poems, all sorts of poems!

When he was older, he worked at a daycare and told wonderful stories that he had made up about real children. Many people loved his stories and finally some of them convinced him to write them down and send them to a publisher.

Robert’s stories are often funny and quirky. He loves to visit schools and meet with the children, explore and try new things. He lives in Canada with his wife and travels all around Canada and the United States.

Robert is a true storyteller. He writes books for kids, talks to kids, and listens to kids. He is a bestselling author and a really unique man!
