Welcome to the World of the Traveling School Psychologist

Welcome to Mr. Hulst’s Blog!  I am the Elementary School Psychologist for the Manheim Central School District. My office is located at H.C. Burgard Elementary School.  I currently serve all three elementary schools as well as grades 5/6 at the Middle School.  My job involves working with students, teachers, parents, and other staff in order to help determine ways to best help meet the needs of our students.  Helping students may involve completing individual assessments, classroom observations, consultation services, and working collaboratively with the Response to Intervention Teams and Child Support Teams.  As the School Psychologist, I assist in helping to determine if a particular child may be a student with a disability and/or may be in need of specially designed instruction.  A major focus with the implementation of the Response to Intervention and Instruction (RTII) is to help ensure that students are receiving research based interventions and services in order help address their areas of difficulty within their regular education classroom. Their progress is closely monitored over time to help determine their response to the recommended interventions within the regular education setting.  I can be reached through email at hulstb@manheimcentral.org or at 665-2209.
