Students reviewed homework about biomes.  Next we completed the notes on biomes.  Finally students completed a biomes of North America worksheet.

Students reviewed food chain and web homework.  Next they took a quiz on ecology.  Then we started notes on biomes.

Homework: read pages 58 – 67 in your textbook

Students did an exercise about where their dinner comes from.  Next we did notes on food chains and food webs.  Finally we watched a video on food chains.

Homework: read pages 42 – 47 in your textbook and do page 6 in your blue packet.  Quiz tomorrow on ecology up through food chains and food webs.

Reviewed the counting turtle exercise.  Next we went over notes on adaptations and natural selection.  Then we did notes on interactions of organisms in an ecosystem.

Homework: Read pages 24 – 31 and do page 5 in the blue packet.

Students reviewed page 4 in blue packet.  Next students completed an exercise in mark and recapture called Counting Turtles.  Finally students watched a video on the deciduous forest biome.

Homework: no homework

Students reviewed the levels of organization in an ecosystem.  Next they completed the page 3 in the blue packet.  Then we took notes on how to count populations.  Finally students completed page 4 in the blue packet.

Homework: Read pages 13 – 20 in your textbook.  Do page 4 in your blue packet.

First day of ecology unit for the last group.  Assigned seats, handed out textbooks,  and started class by describing what a bear needs to survive in the wild.  Next we started notes on habitats and biotic and abiotic factors.

Homework: read pages 6 -10 and do questions 1 – 3 all parts on page 10.

Students last day in science class.  Students handed in their textbook and took the ecology test.

Homework: none

Students reviewed data from the stream study last week.  Students completed papers on the quality of the stream and then wrote  a paragraph on the quality of the stream based on the data collected.  Finally students did a clicker review.

Homework: Ecology test tomorrow.

Students went to Chickies Creek today and did abiotic tests on the quality of the water in the creek.

Homework: Ecology unit test on Tuesday May 8.
