2012 Marching Barons Theme Logo

The Marching Barons’ 2012 field show has been selected and will be arriving shortly!  After much input from student members and brainstorming sessions by the marching band staff on what direction to take and what kind of show to perform, the staff has unanimously selected, “Bushido: Way of the Warrior,” an original marching band show composed by Rob Stein.

The music is a dramatic composition, presented in four movements, centering around the seven virtues of ‘Bushido’–the code of honor practiced by the samurai warriors of feudal Japan.  The seven virtues are: Gi–Fairness, Yuu-Courage, Jin–Benevolence, Rei–Respect, Makoto–Honesty, Meiyo–Honor, and Chuugi–Loyalty.

For all students interested in being a part of the 2012 Marching Barons, music will be available for pick-up beginning after school on Friday, January 27.  You can hear the music by going to the Standing ‘O’ Marching Website.

Check out our cool theme logo up top!
More details will follow as we develop the show!

The countdown is on! Summer rehearsals for the Marching Barons begin in 6 days!!!

Summer music and marching rehearsals for the 2011 Marching Barons season begin this Tuesday, July 12 from 6:30-9pm in the MCHS band room. Rehearsals will continue every Tuesday and Thursday in July from 6:30-9pm.

The start of the marching band season will also be the start of the band’s first fundraiser–Gianni’s Pizza Kits, Mrs. Fields’ Cookie Dough Kits, etc., and will run from July 12-July 26.

Additionally, the Manheim Central Band Booster will be holding a brief informational meeting in conjunction with the rehearsal, beginning at 8pm, to talk about fundraising, volunteer opportunities and other important items related to the marching season and the band’s trip to the Liberty Bowl in December. All parents are invited, welcome and encouraged to attend!

We hope to see EVERYONE this Tuesday, July 12!

The 2011 Manheim Central Marching Barons “Quick Guide,” sent to all 2011 Marching Barons members contained an error missed by Mr. Brackbill when he updated and proof-read the document!!!

The two rehearsals listed for Tuesday, June 21 and Tuesday, June 28 are for members of drum line ONLY! Full band summer rehearsals do not begin until Tuesday, July 12!

Again, non-drum line students DO NOT have rehearsal on June 21 or June 28.

Mr. Brackbill apologizes for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.

See you Tuesday, July 12!
