Hello, Everyone.  It’s that time of year where you are given a great opportunity to support one of the programs your student is involved in.  On Saturday May 5th from 9:00am to 1:00pm, you and your family can come to MCHS and text drive a Ford vehicle…..”No Strings Attached”.  One driver per household with a valid driver’s license can take advantage of this fundraiser.  Ford Motor Company will donate $20.00 for every eligible test drive up to $6000.00 to the booster club of your choosing.  All you have to do is ask for your donation to be given to Manheim Central Baron Stage.  This is a very EASY and QUICK way to raise some money for our program.

So, please come out on the May 5th between 9:00am and 1:00pm to MCHS, help raise some money for Baron Stage, and ENJOY the drive!!!

I have received some questions about the Parent Social.  So, I thought I would send the answers to everyone, because I’m sure more of you have the exact same questions.

  1. 1.       What to bring to the Parent Social dinner?
  • Dinner is Potluck; therefore I highly suggest you bring a hot AND cold dish to share.  We all know that at a potluck, the more the better.  I would hate to see someone go away hungry, especially a student.  We have approximately 90 students and their parents to feed.  Please remember your serving utensils.  Please make sure your hot dish is either in a crockpot or well insulated dish to keep it hot during the preview show.

  1. 2.       Schedule for the evening?
  • Please arrive somewhere between 5:00pm and 5:30pm.  Bring for food items for dinner to the cafeteria first.  There will be someone there to direct you on where to put your food items.
  • After going to the cafeteria, please move to the lobby where you will fill out your slips to purchase tickets.  Someone will be in the lobby to assist you will filling out your slips, if you have any questions.  Please remember that you can purchase as many tickets for as many shows you want on this evening.  Premium seats (center section and aisle seats on the wings) $8.00, Standard seats (outer wings) $5.00.
  • The preview show will start promptly at 5:30pm or shortly thereafter.  The preview show will run for approximately 45 minutes.
  • After the preview show, please move to the cafeteria and find a seat.
  •  If you didn’t get a chance to fill out your ticket purchase slips before the preview show, please do so as soon as you get to the cafeteria.  The slips will be located near the ticket tables.
  • After everyone is seated, there will be some last minute instructional announcements about ticket sales, and then we will being eating and ticket sales will commence.  Ticket sales are done in a lottery format.  The information sheet on the lottery can be found on the Baron Stage blog page, if you haven’t already looked over them.
  • Please enjoy your meal, but listen for your name to be called to purchase your tickets.  This will keep everything moving.
  • Also, please take this time to visit the volunteer table for the days of the shows.  We still have plenty of spots to fill.

Hope to see all of you there tomorrow!!   Thank you!!

Jen Johanning

Hello, everyone!  Here are some updates and reminders.

  1. 1.    LAST Reminder that the Parent Social is next Thursday February 23rd Starting at 5:30pm in the Cafeteria and Auditorium –  This event gives you the opportunity to purchase tickets before the public.  So, have your lists ready.  Ask your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc.  All cast, crew, and pit members are asked to please bring a hot and/or cold dish to share for the dinner.  Please remember that we have approximately 90 students participating in the musical.  So, please bring a very hearty portion to share.  Please remember your serving utensils.  Plates, eating utensils, cups, and drinks will be provided.   This is a very important event not only for you, but for the students.  They love to have your support at this event.  This event is MANDATORY for ALL Cast and Crew.   This is also a great time for you to check out the show and get to know others involved.

  1. 2.    I still need 4 people to help sell tickets at the Parent Social.  This is not a difficult job to do, just fast pace. I need 1 spot filled for a seller and 3 to share the job of running the tickets to the cashier and filling in when the others need to either purchase their tickets or take a break.  Please do not assume that the spots are filled, please just email me if you can help out.

  1. 3.    Please take this opportunity to sign up to volunteer on the nights of the shows.  There will be a volunteer table near the ticket tables during the social.  We still need to fill many, many spots.  Especially Hair & Make-up and Ushering.  We could really use many more hands in the Hair & Make-up department.  If you have a friend/family member that does this for a living or hobby, we would love to have them join us.

  1. 4.    We need sewers/seamstresses to help put together customs for this unique timeframe.  If you or a friend/family member does this for a living or hobby and would like to help, please let contact me or Mr. Hunsicker know as soon as possible.

  1. 5.    Mr. Hunsicker is now looking for small metal coffee cans to construct bug sprayers and 1 golf trophy that looks like it came from the 1920’s.  If you have either of these and wouldn’t mind donating them for the show, please have your student bring them to practice.

  1. 6.    Seniors, one last reminder that your Senior bios are due next Thursday to Mr. Hunsicker.

  1. 7.    Snacks are still needed for crew Wednesday’s and for Dress Rehearsal Week.  If bringing snacks for crew Wednesday’s, please bring before the office is closed, approximately 4:00pm.  There will be a sign-up sheet at the Parent Social for dress rehearsal week.

Please feel free to email me with any questions.  Thank you everyone for being part of the Baron Stage program!!
